Hello everyone. My name is Hania Hinojosa. Today I'll be talking about reading strategies. I'm going a specific reading strategy guys use and apply reading materials. So the reading strategy is what is question? So what is this reading strategy? So basically this reading strategy, do yourself questions. So these from not this reading strategy is important because help you find the main point of the text or the main idea of the text also important confusions you the reading, and it helps you understand the, this another why's important. It's because using this reading strategy, it can help you with a future quiz or test about reading, which is very, very helpful. So when do we use this reading strategy? You actually use this reading strategy before, during and after reading. So before you read, you can actually create these general questions. While you're reading, you can also create these general questions.
And after you reading, you can also, general questions. It's preferable to use all three, so it can be in order, and it will be more, more clear to you. So on this next slide, I actually have an example. So you guys can reference it to in creating your general questions about the passage. Then so for yourself you can ask, did this passage make sense to me? that's a general question for collecting information. You can say, what are facts? What are the main ideas? Because those are also general questions. Ask the, this to important's general question that you can ask. And then we have classify, which is how can recognize information. That's general question also, which, and predicting, asking questions and prediction is very important on the next slide. I actually have an activity.
You guys can use this video and create these general questions. So you guys can create your before you're during and you're after. So before you read this passage, ask general questions about it while you're reading this passage, ask general questions about it. And after you done reading this passage, ask general question. I actually up with get an idea what I came up with and how you guys can be able to use this, to create your general questions about the passage. So these are mine. So I put this dissect this before, during, and after, before I read the passage asked, is it about the advanced technology we had? And the other question I asked was, what type of technology are we going talk about? I actually came up with this, these questions it's a little bit harder to come up with before reading, since, um, what it's about. You're actually not reading it. So what I used was actually I used the title just by the title.
I was able before questions, which is actually like guys and on during the reading, which is what type of qualities are in people's lives, what are the problems of these? So I came up with these questions while I was reading this passage, I was, which is up passage trying is the main, this passage, only over one activity. But I provided guys with the worksheet about this. So it's gonna be about reading and using this reading strategy in that's page long. And you guys are questions, also made a chart when you can put your before reading, during reading and after the reading. So you guys put your questions in that little chart that I did, you also included this chart of examples in the page document. So that is it. That is all. Thank you for watching this video. And good luck on.
